How Does BOTOX® Cosmetic Work?

What Should You Expect with BOTOX® Injections?

What is the Recovery Time?
After your treatment it is important not to lay down or any excessive head bending such as gardening for 4 – 6 hours. Please do not wash the injection areas for 6 hours. No exercise or hats for 24 hours.
You may see some localized swelling, bruising, tenderness, and bleeding at the injection sites. But, there’s no cause for alarm as these symptoms arise from the injecting process, not the BOTOX® Cosmetic. All of these symptoms should resolve within two to three days.
You may see some results as soon as 3 days after your injections, but everyone is different. Everyone will see the full result in 2 weeks.

Who is not a Candidate?
BOTOX® should not be injected in patient’s who are pregnant or breast feeding.
BOTOX® should not be done if there is infection at the site and in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation.
The following Medications can interact with BOTOX® and should be avoided. Antibiotics used to treat infections, gentymycin, tobramycin, clindymycin, and lincomycin.
Medications used to treat heart rhythm problems, Quinidine, medicines used to treat myasthenia gravis, or Alzheimers disease. Patient’s also with ALS and Lou Gehrigs disease. As with all prescription medications, and if you are taking any over the counter herbal medicines you should notify your provider.
