Cheek Filler
Injections

Lift, contour, and rejuvenate your face with
cheek fillers.

As we age, our facial features undergo changes that can affect our appearance. One such change is the loss of volume in the midface area, which can result in flattened cheeks and sagging skin. This occurs due to a decline in bone density and collagen production, as well as changes in fat distribution. These alterations can disrupt the natural balance and proportions of a youthful face.

These cheek filler injections restore the volume underneath your skin’s surface, lifting and contouring the cheek area.

Cheek Filler Treatment

  • This procedure is done by injection.
  • The average recovery is 3 to 7 days
  • The filler is temporary and, on average, lasts up to about 18 months in this area.

How long does cheek filler last?

On average, it lasts for 1 to 2 years in this area, depending on your metabolism, after which patients are welcome to get additional injections for maintenance.

When can I expect to see my results?

Patients can see the hyaluronic acid gel work its magic immediately during the treatment. Improvement is visible immediately. However, the final result appears after about a month because there is some tissue swelling during the treatment.

How much filler do I need?

The number of filler syringes will vary from patient to patient. This will depend on the baseline of volume depletion in the area and the patient’s aesthetic goals. Filler injections can be done in stages, at different time intervals, so correction can be done over time. Patients who want a more natural look may be recommended less filler versus a patient who wants a more dramatic look or correction. Your aesthetic provider will discuss the various filler options and amounts with you prior to your injections.

Does the treatment hurt?

We use a topical numbing cream on the skin prior to injections. Additionally, there is also lidocaine, a numbing agent built into the hyaluronic acid gel, which serves to make the injection experience more comfortable. Most clients will only feel mild discomfort. Ice is also used to reduce pain at the injection site. Of course, perception of pain is a unique experience for everyone.

Are there any side effects from cheek injection fillers?

Tenderness, swelling, redness or bruising may occur at the injection sites. A bruise can be covered with makeup. Other common side effects include firmness, lumps/bumps, itching and discoloration. We are available at 951-581-0532 to discuss any concerns you may have.

Can cheek filler be removed or do I have to wait for it to wear off?

There is absolutely an injection called hyaluronidase to dissolve hyaluronic acid gel filler for those who might be unhappy or have an adverse reaction, or for those whose filler was inadvertently injected into a blood vessel. In the event filler is injected into a blood vessel, it can cause skin ulceration, breakdown and can lead to necrosis. Hyaluronidase can reverse these effects. It is recommended to see the practice where you received treatment if this occurs.
